About Your Captain and Crew

Captain Alan Burke has been sailing since 1985. He holds a US Coast Guard 100 Ton Masters License, with the Sailing and Towing Addendums, as well as a Radar Observer-Unlimited Addendum. He also holds an ABYC Marine Electrical Certification as well as the ABYC Mechanical Systems Certification. Since 1998, the coastal waters of Maine have been his home waters. The winter months will usually find him in the Bahamas or the Caribbean.

Gerri Dubey is Alan's wife and first-mate. Gerri has also been sailing since 1985. A 'lake sailor' for several years, Gerri really got hooked on sailing after a 10-day charter in the Caribbean. Sailing the Maine coast since 1998 has given her the skills and experience to be a full partner in sailing the boat, and able to exchange duties with the captain as required. She is also the 'navigator', as well as 'galley-wench'.

The 'second-mate', and not really much help at all, is Salty, a 14 year old, blue-point Himalayan. Salty has been on board since 1998.
