Built in 2004, Civil Twilight is equipped with all the conveniences and safety equipment necessary to make your time on-board comfortable and enjoyable. We are docked in Georgetown, Maine, just a short drive from Boothbay Harbor and only 30 minutes from LL Bean, at historic Robinhood Marine Center, where your vacation charter begins and ends. Sail away with us and experience the Maine coast. During the winter months, Twilight Charters sails the waters of the Bahamas. We base our Bahamas sailing charters out of Staniel Cay, in the Exumas, and also Marsh Harbour, in the Abacos. Each of these island groups in the Bahamas offers their own unique experiences. All overnight Maine sailing charters can accomodate 3 people, in 2 private cabins. One queen berth, with ensuite head, and one single berth, which shares a head with the captains quarters.  Sail Option #1 - 2 full days of sailing Our 2-day, one-night sailing package begins about 10AM, and ends the following day about 4PM. All meals are included. Click here to see a sample menu. The itinerary is planned according to wind and weather...with your input taken into consideration. A quiet anchorage or busy Boothbay Harbor could be the destination...it's up to you. Participation is encouraged, but not necessary.
Sail Option #2 - 3 full days of sailing The 3-day, 2-nite package is our most popular sailing adventure. That extra night at anchor is sure to wash away any stress you might have arrived with, and put you in an 'island' state of mind. It also gives you the chance to see and experience more of the spectacular Maine coast. Sail south to Casco Bay, or up the coast to Muscongus...both are easily within reach. Once the sails are furled and the anchor is down, you'll have time to explore the shoreline before dinner is prepared. Your sail charter begins at approximately 10AM, but you may embark up to 30 minutes before departure. All meals are included.
Sail Option #3 - Maine sailing at it's best! This one is made to order! If you would like to sail longer passages, you can book a cruise for up to 8 days/7 nights. This vacation would take you to Penobscot Bay, with perhaps a stop in Muscongus Bay along the way. We'll pass by Eastern Egg Rock, one of the few nesting sites for Puffins on the coast of Maine. You are almost certain to see them in July and August. We'll also sail past Marshall Point Lighthouse, one of the most photographed lighthouses in Maine, made 'famous' in the film Forrest Gump. Spend a night in Rockland or Camden Harbor, homes to the many windjammers that sail Penobscot Bay. Or we can sail up to Castine, where visitors are welcome to tour the Maine Maritime Academy, and the 'State of Maine', their 500-ft training ship. Of course, a sailing vacation to Penobscot Bay wouldn't be complete without a stop in one or more of the hundreds of coves along uninhabited islands where you can explore the sandy beaches and rocky coastlines. But it's not all about sailing...Paddling among the islands in our inflatable kayaks is a favorite pastime. You may even want to collect a bucket of mussels...the cook would be happy to prepare them for you! The extended option, 8 full days of sailing, would afford time to sail all the way to Mt. Desert Island. A visit to Acadia National Park is unforgettable. 'Thunderhole', Bubble Pond', 'The Jordan House', and of course Cadillac Mountain. The free shuttle will provide transportation to all of these natural attractions. This vacation will really give you a feeling of what sailing the coast of Maine is all about. You'll see Maine like you've never seen it before. But be forewarned... flexibility in plans is the key to a great vacation!
